We, at Hindustan Zinc, have a long-standing commitment to sports and, in 1976, set up a football stadium at Zawar in Rajasthan, where National Football Tournaments have been organised every year.

Over the years, we realised that a sportsman needs financial security, training, infrastructure and confidence to put his entire focus on his training. With this in mind and in keeping with the spirit of the Indian government’s inspiring initiative Khelo India, we are building an international-level fully-residential football academy in Zawar, Rajasthan, to identify and cultivate hidden talent from the grassroots, in Rajasthan, to establish India as a global footballing powerhouse. With the coming up of this academy, we aim to groom these talents into professional football players who will be at par with National and International football players. We are committed to supporting these young talents, providing the right guidance and opportunities. We also plan to introduce the Junior Zinc Premier League Football Tournament through the Academy soon.

To strengthen the ultimate purpose, the Academy will organise coaches’ development initiatives and certification courses in association with the District, State and National Football Federations to develop a talent pool of skilled football educators thereby creating employment and job opportunities for passionate football coaches.
