A battle at the top, decided by fine margins…

Our Zinc Football Academy faced their toughest test yet in the Rajasthan League Senior Women’s A-Division 2025–26, going down 1–2 to fellow unbeaten side Magan Singh Rajvi FA in a closely fought top-of-the-table clash on matchday 3 in Jaipur.

ZFA started the game with confidence and intent, striking early in the 8th minute. In-form winger Dangi Mardi opened the scoring with a sharp one-touch finish, meeting a precise cross from the right flank to give ZFA the perfect start.

Both sides continued to create chances in an evenly contested first half, with MSR FA pushing for an equaliser and ZFA looking to extend their lead. Just before the break, MSR FA found their moment, scoring from a direct free-kick just outside the 18-yard box, leaving our goalkeeper Sonam with no chance. The teams went into half-time level at 1–1.

After the interval, ZFA remained positive and pushed forward in search of a second goal. However, MSR FA capitalised on a key moment in the second half. Their right winger produced a brilliant individual run, getting past the defence. Goalie Sonam rushed out to narrow the angle and managed to disrupt the play, but the winger recovered to deliver a cross into the box, which was tapped into an empty net to give MSR FA the lead.

With the game slipping away, ZFA responded with attacking changes and increased urgency. The match turned into an end-to-end contest, with midfielder Antra attempting efforts from distance, while Zawar local talents Geet, Bindiya, Manisha and Savita all contributed in attack.

ZFA thought they had found a dramatic equaliser near the 90th minute when Zawar’s Bindiya Kumari Meena finished from a Dangi cross, sparking celebrations on the bench… only for the goal to be ruled out for offside.

Despite a spirited performance, ZFA had to settle for a narrow defeat as MSR FA moved to the top of the table.

With five matchdays still to go, the race is far from over, and our Zawar-based team will look to bounce back strongly in the upcoming fixtures.
