As part of their preparations for the upcoming major tournaments, all the three Zinc Football Academy age group teams – under-19, under-17, and under-15 – played three friendly matches each. The under-15 team played their friendlies in Hanumangarh and Nohar, while the other age groups travelled to Goa to play their matches.
The under-15 team won 4-1 against DFA Hanumangarh but narrowly lost on penalties to Bhatner FC and Nohar FC after both the matches ended 2-2 at full-time.
In Goa, the under-17 team won 4-2 and 3-1 against Vasco United FC and FC Goa respectively. The Zawar-based Academy team won their third match versus Cuncolim FC on penalties after it ended 1-1 at the end of regulation time.
Zinc Football Academy under-19 squad defeated SESA Football Academy 2-0. But lost to FC Goa by the same margin. The last match against Pax of Nagoa ended in a 1-1 draw.
Our under-19 team will now be traveling to New Delhi for the Reliance Foundation Development League, scheduled to kick off on February 20th, Tuesday. The under-17 squad will be going to Meghalaya for the knockout rounds of AIFF Youth League soon, while the under-15 team is awaiting the AIFF Youth League dates.
