The FINAL challenge begins…

The final round is here! Our Zinc Football Academy Under-18 side is all set to kick off their Group C campaign against the giants East Bengal FC tomorrow in Mahilpur, Punjab.

Coming into this stage, the mood in the camp is confident. The conditions in Punjab mirror Rajasthan closely, allowing the young team to settle in seamlessly. A preparatory friendly match in Punjab has further helped the boys adapt, ensuring they are match-ready, starting tomorrow.

ZFA enter the final round after finishing second in Group B during the zonal phase, while East Bengal FC arrive as Group H toppers… setting the stage for a high-intensity opener between two strong sides.

Group C in this final round promises to be fiercely competitive, with Reliance Foundation Young Champs and ASUFII FC completing what can truly be called the “Group of Death.” A positive result in the opening fixture could prove crucial in building early momentum, especially with all three group matches scheduled within a span of just six days.

There is, however, a setback for our Zawar-based Academy. Midfielder Bryant Dihingia and defender Balbir Thapa have been ruled out of the matchday squad after picking up injuries during training in Punjab. Despite this, the squad’s depth remains a strong point, with replacements ready to step up and make an impact.

With stakes high and little margin for error, the opening match could set the tone for the entire campaign.

All eyes now turn to Mahilpur.

Can our boys rise to the occasion and make a strong statement in Group C?

Kick-off: 4:30 PM
