Twelve girl athletes from Hindustan Zinc’s CSR initiative Zinc Football have been selected for the 18-member Udaipur squad competing in the Asmita League Championship. The tournament will be held at the PGA School Ground in Bhana, Rajsamand, from May 1–3, 2026.
Ten out of the twelve players are from the Zawar-based Zinc Football Academy (ZFA), whereas two players are from its Community Schools in Zawar, highlighting the project’s impact in both excellence ZFA) as well as community impact (ZF Community School).
As the site of India’s largest residential football academy for girls, Zinc Football Academy provides a world-class training environment focused on elite performance. This dominant representation in the district squad underscores ZFA’s mission to revolutionise Rajasthan’s footballing landscape and reflects the academy’s success in nurturing the next generation of champions.
A total of 10 teams are playing in the tournament, including Jodhpur, Jalore, Ajmer, Nagaur, Bikaner, Dholpur, Rajsamand, Sriganganagar and Jhunjhunu.
The girls will start their campaign against Jodhpur on Saturday and might face Jalore, Ajmer, or Nagaur if they advance in the tournament. The semi-finals will take place on Saturday as well, while the final will be played on Sunday.
“Twelve of our Zinc Football Academy players are in the Udaipur squad. We have been training well for the last few months, and our team is ready for the Asmita League Championship. We recently won the Doon Cup, which shows our girls are prepared to play and win the tournaments. I am sure they will do well for Udaipur as well in the Asmita League Championship,” commented Amrutha Aravind Valliyath, Head Coach, ZFA girls’ team.
