The success of DFA Udaipur in the U-16 Asmita Football League 2025–26 is not just a story of results on the pitch, but also of grassroots impact… and Asha Meena and Radhika Meena embody that journey perfectly.

Hailing from a rural locality Newatalai in Zawar (about 40 kms from Udaipur), both 15-year-olds have been part of the Zinc Football (ZF) Community Schools in Zawar for the past four years. Their journey is defined by remarkable consistency and commitment. Every day after school, the two would return home, quickly freshen up, and walk nearly five kilometres to attend their training sessions… rarely missing a day. Their discipline, hunger to improve, and love for the game have been evident since the very beginning.

Among more than 100 young players who regularly train at the ZF Community Schools, Asha and Radhika stood out… not just for their footballing ability, but for their attitude and work ethic. Best friends off the pitch, their shared dream and mutual support have played a significant role in their development.

Their efforts were rewarded with selection in the DFA Udaipur squad for the U-16 Asmita Football League 2025–26, where both players went on to play crucial roles in the team’s title-winning campaign. Their contribution throughout the tournament highlights the strength of the grassroots ecosystem and the pathways being created through the ZF Community Schools initiative.

Asha and Radhika’s journey is a testament to the impact of sustained community-level engagement, where access, opportunity, and consistent guidance can help nurture talent and transform potential into achievement.
