Zinc Football, Vedanta Hindustan Zinc’s CSR initiative, has reopened its community football training centres, known as Zinc Football Schools, in Zawar, Udaipur.
16-year-old Sahil Poonia of Zinc Football Academy won the best goalkeeper award in his debut for India at the SAFF Under-17 Championship in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Goalkeeper Sahil Poonia of Zinc Football Academy, a CSR initiative of Hindustan Zinc Limited, has been called up for the India Under-16 National Team Camp which is preparing for the upcoming SAFF Under-16 Championship to be held in Sri Lanka.
The under-18 team of Zinc Football Academy touched down in Goa on 5th April to play three friendly matches against Super 30, Dempo Sports Club (Under-18) and India Under-16 National Camp Team.
The young footballers of Zinc Football Academy exhibited their top form while going head to head against physically stronger and more experienced teams in the 59th All India Principal Harbhajan Singh Memorial Football Tournament held in Punjab from 22nd February.
16-year-old Atul Kumar Meena is from Newa Talai village in Udaipur district, a few kilometers away from the Zinc Football Academy. Atul’s father, who is a physical education teacher in a school in Zawar Mines, has always encouraged him to get into sports.
The Under-16 team of Zinc Football Academy have started the new year on the best possible note by convincingly winning the inaugural edition of Elite Youth Cup held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
Hindustan Zinc-Vedanta initiative Zinc Football Academy scripted history by winning the Rajasthan State Men’s League 2021 held in Jaipur. The Zinc Football footballers, all of whom are under the age of 18 years, remained unfazed by the age difference in the league, accumulating an impressive 5 wins in 7 matches and scoring a mammoth 23 goals which includes a 10-2 victory in the final league match.
The young footballers of Zinc Football Academy, all of whom are under the age of 18 years, have created history by winning the coveted Rajasthan State Men’s League 2021 held in Jaipur.
The whole footballing fraternity was taken by surprise when NorthEast United FC announced Lalengmawia as the captain of the Highlanders, making him the youngest captain in the history of Indian Super League.
