The senior team of Zinc Football Academy had a promising start to the third season of the Reliance Foundation Development League (Under-21) – North Zone Regional Qualifiers. The AIFF rated Elite 3-star Academy secured victories against Sudeva Delhi FC (2-1) and Rajasthan United FC (1-0) in the opening two matches, marking their debut in the prestigious tournament.
However, Zinc Football Academy faced tougher challenges in the subsequent four matches, succumbing to defeats against formidable opponents such as Punjab FC (both home and away), Rajasthan United FC, and Sudeva Delhi FC.
ZFA’s senior boys regained momentum with an impressive 5-1 triumph over AIPL FC, followed by two draws against Delhi FC (1-1) and AIPL FC (0-0). Unfortunately, in the final group match, Delhi FC defeated Zinc Football Academy 11-0. The Zawar-based team concluded the campaign with a total of 11 points.
The top two teams from each zonal group will advance to the next round. Teams that excel in the next round will further secure a spot in the Next Gen Cup, competing alongside some of the finest youth teams from the Premier League, one of the most esteemed football leagues globally.
