Special StoriesWe Are The Change, Says Goals For Girls

Zinc Football programme has been bringing deserved accolades since its inception with path-breaking international organizations which are working for grassroots football recognizing our efforts.

One such, Goals for Girls –a reputed non-profit award winning organization that uses football to develop leadership skills in young women and inspire community change- invited Zinc Football to attend the Goals for Girls Leadership Summit 2020 held in Bangalore from 1 st to 4th January’20.

Six of our most talented women footballers from the Zinc Football Schools -Neha Vasita, Charu Kashyap, Dipti bhoi, Ankita Thakur, Khushi Saini, Vandana Prasad- all under the age of 16 years, were chosen to attend the summit. The Leadership Summit, which focused on the key component ‘We are the Change’- a girl-driven movement, turned out to be an excellent exposure camp for the girls.

This Leadership Summit was attended by nearly 120 coaches and girl children from across India, including the following 12 partner Sport for Development organizations from six states and eight cities: CEQUIN, Dreaming in a Slum, Foot & Boot, Izad, Khel Khel Mein Foundation, Mera India Mera Adhikar, Naz Foundation, Oscar Foundation, Shining Stars Football Club, Slum Soccer, Yuwa and Zinc Football!

An over-the-moon Charu Kashyap from Zawar said: “It was an amazing learning experience for us. We were engaged in multiple on-field and classroom activities, sessions and workshops, which we intend to share with our friends here to help them get a picture of how expansive the game of football is! We would like to thank Zinc Football for this opportunity.”
